Of Vlive Heartbeat Award 2019

I NEVER went to any concerts in my entire life, let alone a Kpop concert. So, the moment my mentor teacher offered me a free ticket to 2019 Vlive Awards, my heart just dropped a beat! Initially, she bought the ticket because she wanted to see her favourite idol; X1 performance. However, the group somehow wouldn't be performing on that night. So, i guess, 'rezeki' for me then. And after giving a deep consideration, I decided to not let go of this golden opportunity and bought a train ticket to Seoul at 9:45a.m. from Changwon.

I don't know what has gotten into me but I was rather determined to be at Gocheok Sky Dome before 3p.m. So I just bought the train ticket (for less than 80,000krw return) even though I didn't have any proper seats for almost 3 hours! Luckily there was a little bit of space in that train so I could just sat on the floor while completing two of my final reports for this program. See! I even work in the midst of watching the concert 😅 Regardless, after a series of butt cramped, I managed to claim my concert ticket at 3:25p.m.

As I didn't have anywhere to go or even friends to talk to, I just spent the remaining time to 7p.m., lounging around the area.

By the way, what's Vlive Heartbeat Awards? Well, firstly, you must know that;

V Live (stylized as VLIVE), sometimes referred to as V App, is a South Korean live video streaming service that allows celebrities based in the country to broadcast live videos on the internet and live chat with fans. Streaming is available online or on Android and iOS mobile devices, with replays formerly available on PC (no longer available on some computers due to its utilization of Flash Videos).[1] The company is owned by Naver Corporation and was launched in late August 2015.[2]

So, yesterday (16th November 2019) was the first annual award ceremony for V Live and it was held at the Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul (which is near Guil train station). Among the awards last night were "Top 12 Global Artists", the "top 5 Global Rookies", and the "most Loved Artist". The winners for the global Artists and Global Rookies were based on the number of plays, hearts and comments received on V Live from December 2018 until September 30th, this year. As for the "Most Loved Artist" it was entirely based on the fans votes.

Frankly, I don't know most of the artists on that night, but I could say that MonstaX, Got7, Momomi have quite a number of fans based on the screams and support by the audience. All of them came prepared with banners, all in the name of supporting their idols. The venue was humongous, but most of the seats weren't filled, which made me wonder why they gave me the most top seat to begin with 😑. Either way, I seriously enjoy the show eventhough I didn't get to see any of the artists up close. By the way, Afghan and Anne Marie were there too, receiving best Indonesia and Favourite Artist Worldwide.

As that concert was my first, I didn't quite fluent with the rules. So, i just took my time recording snippets for each of the performances until one time, I was told by the security to stop recording! Was I embarassed? You bet I am, but as I looked, I saw bunch of other people secretly recording the show as well. I guessed, you gotta do all that as long as you didn't get caught👻👻

By the way, among of the performances last night were as follows:
  1. GOT7 – Intro, “Call My Name,” “Crash & Burn”
  2. MONSTA X – “Enemy” (literal title), “Alligator,” “Play It Cool,” “Follow”
  3. Anne-Marie – “2002” + “Friends”
  4. MAMAMOO – “Destiny” + “HIP”
  5. Stray Kids – Intro (“3rd Eye”), “Side Effects,” rap performance, “Double Knot”
  6. CIX – Intro + “Movie Star” (Remix)
  7. ITZY – “DALLA DALLA” + “ICY”
  8. TXT – “CROWN” + “Run Away”
  9. Nell – “Time Walking on Memories” + “See U In Five”
  10. Hoppipolla – “About Time” + “Time Walking on Memories” (rearranged version)
  11. JANNABI – “For Lovers Who Hesitate”
  12. Noo Phước Thịnh – “I’m Still Loving You”
  13. Afgan – “Sudah”

And the results for the awards are as follows (in case you care to know 😅):

I didn't stay until the end of the performance because I was scared that the train service would end. So, I left the venue by 10:40p.m. and took a train to Anyang station; where my friend's place is. Overall, it was rather a great experience to me and I am so grateful for that. I've never been so youthful!
