Since end of September, both my partner and I have been trying to hangout with the Sahwa kids during lunch time. We named this programme as Malaysia: Truly Asia. The purpose was to give more exposure of Malaysia culture to them as we both agreed that three times interaction during lessons aren't enough. Before this it was just teaching them to count in Malay as well as drilling on basic Malay expressions, but today, we decided to take it up a notch by breaking the sessions into two different venues with two different activities. My partner took charge of introducing the traditional games such as gasing, batu Seremban, capteh and Zero point. me on the other hand, taught the kids basic Joget steps. Since there's a stage on the second floor, I chose to have my lesson there instead while my partner chose the other lobby area which is more spacious to give more room for capteh and gasing.
We thought that there won't be any kids willing to join us, but we were wrong. To my surprise, there were ONLY boys joining my Joget class. Amazing, right?
